Today I am going to talk about a book. But, this is not just any book. This is an amazing book.
It’s a book worth reading, a book worth pondering over and a book worth crying over. (Well, at least to me. 😉 )
I would tell any girl thirteen and up that she HAS to read this book!!! THISS BOOOOKKK!!!!!!!!!
Well, I am guessing that you all are wondering what this book is. But, it is kinda like me to keep you waiting but…let’s get on with it!!!
Okay, so that is the book.
I know what you are think – “The title is cool, the girl is pretty and IT’S WRITTEN BY STEPHANIE MORRILL!!!! GAHHH!!”
If I were you I would be thinking that too.
But, this isn’t just your ordinary (STEPHANIE MORRILL!!!) book about a teenage girl. It’s an AWESOME book about a teenage girl.
So many bad things happened to Skylar (the MC) in life, that I felt like crying and hugging her and saying “It’s gonna be okay!”
Now, I’m starting to think that you guys might also want the back cover blurb and not just the cover, right?
Well, wait no longer!!! Here is the back cover blurb:
Getting a fresh start is harder than it looks.
Skylar Hoyt is a girl who seems to have it all – she’s pretty, popular, and has a great-looking boyfriend. Her senior year should be the best one yet. But a horrible experience at a summer party has changed everything. Now she’s vowing to make better choices, including going back to church. But as Skylar tries to gain new perspective on life, the world as she knows it begins to fall apart.
Her parents are constantly fighting. Her younger sister has a big secret that Skylar is forced to keep. The guy she’s dating is annoyingly jealous. And the new guy down the street is just plain annoying. In the midst of the chaos, Skylar starts to wonder who her real friends are and, even more importantly, who she is.
GAAHHHH!!!! I JUST CAN’T THIS BOOOKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!
I literally read this almost-three-hundred-page-book in ONE DAY!!! I LOVED IT THAT MUCH!!!
JUST THE CLIFF HANGERS AND THE EMOTION AND THE DRAMA!!!! It was the BEST. BOOK. EVER.
Well, it’ll be the best book ever until I read the second and third books. 😉
I just REALLY LOVE THIS BOOOK AND YOU SHOULD READ IT RIGHT NOW!!!!! Unfortunately, I do not own it but rented it from my Church’s library. But, I will be borrowing it again and again!
Well, didn’t want to make this post too long, and besides, I need to fit my TITWC story in here and a special announcement as well.
Now that I am don rambling over that (AMAZING!!!) book, I will continue on to my story for TIWC. Well *deep breath* here I go! 🙂
there used to be three of us…
but, now, i’m alone.
that night that they left,
was the worst. night. ever.
i was alone
staring out the window.
but, i worked up the courage
to walk down the street,
in search of them.
i worked up the courage
to be one of those boys who walked down the street in search of their parents.
to call them to come back.
“we are going after our dreams,” she had said.
“we are following the road to dreams,” he had said –
they had said. they had said.
what about what i had said?
“don’t go,” i had pleaded. “i have no one.”
she knelt beside me and said,
“Jackson, you are not alone. look up.”
i looked up.
there he was – the Man in the sky. He was watching me.
“that’s Him,” Dad had said. “He is always with you.”
Mom had taken his hand, and walked away.
now, i walk along the road marked dreams, hoping to find them.
but a Voice from the sky came to me.
“you will not find them,” It said.
so i stopped looking, and i went to Him.
“you have Me now,” He said.
i sat on His lap and snuggled closer.
“i have You now.”
Well, that was it! If you where confused, the story thingy was about a little (six year old) boy, not a girl.
Okay, now for my announcement!!
I AM MOVING ON TO ROUND #2 FOR BLOGGING PRESIDENT!!!! You can go to my (new) page for it and please vote for me if you want to (please)! I will have ten new AWESOME reasons that you should vote for me! Yay!
Well, now I need to go and get ready for choir so… SEE YA!!!! (and don’t forget to vote! 😉 )
How was that story? And does “Me, Just Different” sound like a book you would want to read?
